Seandra Mishan Pennie was born May 11, 1976, to Carolyn M. Lockhart and James Pennie. She was always an inspiring young lady with a passion for people and children. At an early age, Seandra decided she wanted to be an educator. Before the completion of middle school, her mother pushed her into applying for the Center for the Teaching Profession Magnet Schools Program at Miami Senior High School. She was accepted and embarked into a journey of learning about the educational philosophy that she holds near and dear to her heart. After high school, Seandra enrolled in a tuition free program to attend Miami Dade College for two years in a Global Business Management Program. During her tenure there, she learned the maneuvering and accounting aspects of running business effectively.
Ms. Pennie completed her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice Pre-Law at Florida Memorial University. This is where all of her social skills and networking took its peek. Upon becoming an active member of the Student Government Association, Pre-Alumni Association, Gospel Choir, Criminal Justice Society and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. She also helped to found an organization that focused on uniting education majors and persons wanting to impact their community, Kappa Theta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. On this road to becoming a philanthropist, Seandra became involved and active in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program and also started mentoring and tutoring students in her spare time.
After college, Seandra was led back into the teaching profession where she began to feel at home and comfortable. She also became a case manager for the Department of Children and Families and used her same skills acquired with teaching and social services to use. After which, Ms. Pennie decided to further her education by enrolling in the Nova Southeastern University Masters of Teaching and Learning Degree program with a specialization in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction.
Seandra always sees learning in every situation. She is highly skilled and trained in the following areas:
